Rio Caldera - Boquete, Panama

The Caldera River is the powerful river that passes through the town of Boquete in Panama. Born in the Volcan Baru Park, this water source provides beauty to the highland town, hydroelectric power, and water for consumption. The strength of its current was made evident most recently by the 2008 flooding that caused extensive damage in the town.

This photo was taken in a peaceful February afternoon in the area of Bajo Mono in Boquete.

El Río Caldera es ese caudaloso río que pasa a traves del pueblo de Boquete en Panamá. Su nacimiento es en el Parque Volcán Barú y sus aguas son fuente de belleza para este pueblo montañoso, así como tambien energía hidroelectrica y agua para consumo. La fuerza de su corriente fue evidente recientemente con las inundaciones que se dieron en el 2008 y que causaron muchos daños en el área.
